CAD 2.,2020 FALL SEMESTER
Description of the Course:CAD 2 is the second level to the CAD course offered at out school, and you have to take CAD 1 before you can join this course..In the course you will do very similar drawings to CAD 1,however the difficulty of these drawings are going to be much higher than your previous ones in CAD 1.You first start out the course with mechanical drawings, otherwise known as hand drawings. You do these hand drawings to get a good understanding of what went on in the drafting world before sowtware programs came out..During the second half of the course ou will get back into the CAD part of the course. You will first start off with the most basic style of drawing, AutoCAD single views. These are fairly easy drawings to perform, but they are used more to refresh your knowledge before handiling more difficult drawings. The second style of drawing you are going to complete are AutoCAD orthographic drawings. These are very similar to single view drawings, however they are now have a top, right side, and front view included. The final type of rawing performed with AutoCAD are going to be isometric drawings.Isometric drawings are kind of a combination of both single view drawings and orthographic drawings, because they include the same three views as the orthographic, while still being able to view the main obect in a 3D like manner.
Likes/Dislikes about the course:I really enjoy the main concept of this course, computer aided drafting.I find it quite fun and even releiving when you fianlly figure out how to perform a drawing that you were previously working on.Additionally,CAD is a very important skill to learn that can come in handy down the road when looking for a job,and I also believe it is generally a good skill to have whether you use it often or not.I also enjoy Mr.Zeroth as a teacher. He lightens the mood of your usual school day and will help whenever you need it.However,I do not like the hand drawing portion of the course.Although the hand drawings are not super difficult, they are very time consuming and rather boring in my opinion.
